We operate outside the insurance market to provide primary care for self-insured companies.  We have a new family clinic opening in October that will require a pediatrician.  Board Certification in Pediatrics is preferred.  This is an 8-5 position with paid holidays and benefits.  We will consider a part time schedule, too.  Part time is less than 30 hours and does not include benefits.  We provide liability coverage for all of our physicians.  If you or someone you know might be interested, please contact me either by email (shirley.schultz@hbdus.com) or by cell phone 601-4654.  I hope to hear from you.

Position Title: Physician Pediatric Team Leader

Supervisor: Clinic Medical Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: Physicians shall provide medical services in an outpatient clinic setting as determined by the Medical Board of Directors of Health by Design Medical Group and to the extent permitted by the Texas Professional Association Act and the applicable canons of professional ethics.

Job Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining and treating clinical patients in order to meet their needs

  • Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients

  • Determines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs

  • Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments

  • Exercises final medical judgment in all issues of health care

  • Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients

  • Orders studies, test and ancillary services

  • Documents all services in patient medical record in ECW

  • Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention

  • Consults with Medical Director and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and educational issues

  • Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by Health by Design

  • Oversees mid-level medical staff and clinical nursing staff as assigned

  • Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries from patients

  • Assisting in the development, production, and presentation of medical education, material, lectures and mixed media presentations for patient and medical staff

  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations

  • May be assigned to multiple clinic sites as mutually agreed upon with Director of Medical Operations

  • Requires on-call responsibilities 

Essential Job Requirements:

Education: Medical degree in medicine from accredited school

Experience: Minimum of two years of direct work experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current license to practice in state of clinic location

  • Board Certification in Family Medicine with a specialty in Pediatrics

  • ACLS/BLS 

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques

  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette

  • Performs in a tactful and professional manner

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; talk; and hear

  • The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.

  • The team member may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
