### Summary

**About the Position:

This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, responsible for managing the office, making independent judgments concerning priorities, providing day-to-day directions of the office and interacting with headquarters and subordinate services. Fort Sam Houston is located in San Antonio, the second largest metropolitan area in Texas with a warm climate and close proximity to beaches.

The spirit of Texas is captured in San Antonio retaining its sense of history and tradition, blending sounds/flavors from Old Mexico to the Deep South. The Alamo is located in downtown San Antonio. The River Walk offers much to the tourist; side walk cafes, restaurants, as well as the nightclubs and hotels. Children can enjoy San Antonio's Children's Museum, Magik Theater, and Brackenridge Park. San Antonio also offers two major theme parks, Sea World of Texas and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.**

### Qualifications

 

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

 

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes receiving visitors and telephone calls; reviewing documents for conformance with regulations, grammar, format, and special policies; composing correspondence that is routine, general, or complex but non-technical in nature; preparing special and recurring reports; and making travel arrangements. Serve as time-keeper. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

 

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
